Every year, Jews cycle through the Torah.  While the words might not change, the meanings change as our lives change.  At Emanuel we strive to find meaning in the Torah and other Jewish texts, no matter if you are 13, 30, or 83.  You will find an array of study opportunities for children and adults at Emanuel, but there are also wonderful materials available on the web.  Below are feeds provided by the URJ to supplement your studies.

Hineni: Here I Am by Rabbi Herman Schaalman
Hineni: Here I Am is a powerful and articulate book setting forth the theological and personal wisdom accumulated by one of America's foremost Reform rabbis, our own Rabbi Emeritus Herman E. Schaalman, during a distinguished career spanning more than a half-century.
The book is available in the Emanuel office for a suggested minimum contribution of $36 to the Torah Writing Project.

Rabbi Michael Zedek and Rabbi Herman Schaalman hold the Torah that made the long trip to the World Union for Progressive Judaism conference in Hannover, Germany, in March 2006. The Emanuel Torah is on permanent loan to the Liberal Jewish Community of Hannover. This community was founded in 1995 and more than 97% of its members are from the former Soviet Union. The Rabbis and Torah were accompanied by several congregants on their journey to Germany.
