Sisterhood hosts Tikkun Olam Baby Shower

The Emanuel Sisterhood held a special event in February, a Tikkun Olam Baby Shower to benefit Care for Real, an Edgewater relief agency. The Tikkun Olam baby shower was a great hit! Members donated items for babies and small children. Everyone was so generous with the items they donated. We had just about every type of item imaginable: toys, books, clothes, diapers, wipes, food, baby grooming items, and even homemade knit baby sweaters (thank you Deb Arendt!). It was so much fun to look at the teeny tiny things.

A huge “Thank You” to our community for all the donations. Gift cards and money that were donated will be used to buy things that cannot be gotten with food stamps, such as laundry detergent and personal hygiene items. There was wonderful food, wonderful company and we got to make fleece baby blankets (14 in total) for a wonderful cause.
