What is the holiday about?
On Purim, we celebrate the events of the Book of Esther. The Book of Esther took place during the Persian Empire, and Esther helped save the Jews from evil machinations of Haman, who tried to kill all the Jews.
When is it?
14th of Adar
How do we celebrate?
Book of Esther, Eat with Friends, Carnival, Costumes, Hamantaschen

What is the holiday about?
Shabbat is the weekly day of rest. We take a pause from the rest of the week, come together to pray, have meals, and spend time with friends and family.

Sukkot
Tabernacle - The Festival of Huts
What is the holiday about?
On Sukkot, we celebrate the huts that the Israelites lived in the Sinai Desert during the 40 years after they left Egypt, but before they received the Torah. It is also an agricultural holiday, celebrating the harvest.
When is it?
15th of Tishrei - 21th of Tishrei
How do we celebrate?

Yom Kippur
Day of Atonement
What is the holiday about?
Yom Kippur is the annual Day of Atonement, and the second holiday in the "Days of Awe". We spend the day fasting in prayer, thinking back to our actions of the previous year, and thinking about how we can do better in the coming year.
