Join Us In a Fun Sukkah Competition!
We are currently celebrating the week-long holiday of Sukkot – one of my favorite holidays! It also happens to be one that is uniquely appropriate for our current reality, since it happens mainly outdoors. What a perfect holiday to celebrate while physically distancing!
This year, our Emanuel Congregation staff team has come up with some fun and unique ways to join in celebrating the festivities! One, of course, is to sign up for a slot to come and enjoy some time in our sukkah. I will be there on Thursday afternoon from 4:00-6:30 pm and would love to see you!
In addition, we invite you to join us in a fun sukkah competition! How do you do this? Well, your challenge (should you choose to accept it), is to create a sukkah by any creative means you can think of – this could be an edible sukkah, a lego sukkah, a Minecraft sukkah, the options are endless! HERE are some instructions to help you make an edible sukkah, if you would like some help getting started. My favorite way to make one is frosting for glue, graham crackers for walls, pretzel rods for the roof, and plenty of runts candies for decorative fruit. Once your sukkot is complete, either post on Facebook and tag @EmanuelCong or email me a picture at mandy@emanuelcong.org. Sukkot will be judged by a special committee and the winner will receive a $25 Amazon gift card! I cannot wait to see some cool and creative (and maybe even delicious) sukkot!

Mandy
