Launching 5959
I’m thrilled to join the Emanuel team to lead 5959, a new community initiative.
5959 is a Jewishly-based cultural and community destination to serve Chicago with programming, speakers, panels and author events. While 5959 is based out of the Emanuel building, 5959 itself will have partners around the city with the goal of helping people find community and connection through events, talks, workshops and other offerings.
I’ve been an Emanuel member for many years, and since joining the leadership team to launch 5959 just a few weeks ago, I’ve hit the ground running, beginning to develop strategic community partnerships, building out the organization’s brand and infrastructure, and creating the various programming “tracks” including Arts & Performance, Authors & Ideas, Kids & Family, Social Events, and Health & Wellbeing. Look for some initial event announcements over the next two weeks.
The initiative will call on many people to make it great, both from within Emanuel’s membership as well as from other parts of the community. Stay tuned for more information about our two working groups - a strategic partnership/donor relations working group and an event execution working group. Both will be key to 5959’s success.
Please keep an eye on 5959Chicago.org for more information in the coming weeks, and please connect with this new initiative on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for all the latest.
