Introducing Margo Strifert

Shalom Chevrei:

I hope you are well.

Speaking of wellness, I am delighted to introduce to you Ms. Margo Strifert. Margo will serve essentially as an administrative assistant in support of our CHESED team. CHESED captain Joy Getzenberg and I are delighted and thankful to have Margo who will help keep organized and effective our caring activities. We are grateful for a generous grant received to hire Margo for this important leadership role. We find Margo thoughtful, kind, and motivated, and we wish her a warm welcome and great success.

Margo has a few words for you now…

Dear Emanuel Congregation,

I am beyond thrilled to be joining such a beautiful congregation. It is a hard and scary time for many of us, but I am hoping with such a great team of wonderful people, we can take these moments to celebrate our community's commitment to one another and to Judaism. My position here will truly be as a resource, and I urge you to feel free to reach out with any concerns, questions, or general needs. I want to be a bridge between our devoted and committed staff and our community of congregants. I have been brought on to the staff on a part-time basis to be an administrative resource for our Chesed team- a group of hard-working volunteers helping to reach and support our community during this challenging time. I am hoping to help oversee the pace and effectivity of our ability to really make a difference in how Emanuel holds holidays and traditions, and continues to proceed as normally as possible in the current pandemic.

So, let me take a moment to introduce myself. I am a recent graduate from the University of Colorado, Boulder. I grew up in Minneapolis, but through Olin Sang Ruby summer camp and NFTY, I have had the opportunity to join the Jewish community of Chicago. I was originally planning to move to the city after college, but because of the recent pandemic, my progression has been slow. Luckily, I was introduced to this great congregation and the opportunity to get involved and I am excited to get to know everyone and all the great traditions and culture of Congregation Emanuel. I love hiking and reading, so I would love any good book recommendations you have been reading during quarantine time. Please let me know if you’d like to chat or if you have any needs to address.

Thank you, Margo, and welcome. We appreciate your presence and know you’ll make a difference.

Make it a day of blessing and be a force for good!

Zei gezunt:

Rabbi Craig Marantz
